A trusted professional behind the wheel. A calm, dependable presence throughout the day.
The opportunity
The Talent Desk is recruiting an experienced Executive / Family Driver on behalf of a confidential client based in Mombasa.
This is more than a driving position. The successful candidate will be entrusted with the safe transportation of a company director and authorised family members and will work in an environment where punctuality, discretion, good judgment and professional boundaries are essential.
The role is primarily based in Mombasa but will include occasional early starts, late finishes and travel outside Mombasa County, including long-distance assignments.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Providing safe, reliable and punctual transportation for the Director and authorised family members.
- Planning journeys in advance, monitoring traffic and selecting safe and efficient routes.
- Supporting school runs, appointments, business engagements and other authorised journeys as required.
- Ensuring the vehicle is clean, presentable, fuelled and ready for use.
- Conducting routine vehicle checks and promptly reporting faults, servicing requirements or safety concerns.
- Maintaining journey, fuel and vehicle records where required.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality regarding conversations, locations, schedules, family matters and business information.
- Maintaining appropriate professional boundaries while working around the client’s home, family, children, guests and business associates.
- Undertaking long-distance and out-of-county journeys when required.
- Remaining calm, courteous and safety-conscious in traffic, unexpected situations and changes of plan.
What we’re looking for
You should have:
- A valid Kenyan driving licence appropriate for the role.
- At least 5 years of verifiable professional driving experience.
- A strong record of safe and responsible driving.
- Experience with long-distance driving.
- Good knowledge of Mombasa and surrounding areas, as well as major Kenyan road routes.
- Good spoken English and Kiswahili.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle inspection, maintenance and fault reporting.
- Excellent punctuality and time management.
- A calm, respectful and professional manner.
- Strong discretion and an understanding of confidentiality.
- The ability to follow instructions while exercising sound judgment.
- Availability for occasional early-morning, evening, weekend and out-of-county assignments.
Previous experience as an Executive, Personal, Family, Corporate or VIP Driver will be an advantage.
Defensive-driving training and a valid Certificate of Good Conduct will also be advantageous. Required documentation and checks will be confirmed later in the recruitment process.
The person we’re looking for
Driving skill matters — but character matters just as much.

You should be comfortable working around senior professionals, children, guests and private residences while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries at all times.
You should also understand that information you encounter through your work — whether personal, family-related or business-related — remains confidential.
